Zoo Trip!

This weekend, I went to the zoo with my friends in the freezing cold! It was still a lot of fun, nevertheless.

Process Experiment

Other than my Drawing for Entertainment Design class, I have been working with drawing figures and sketching my characters for fun.

A little experiment I did to change up my process. I started with the sketch, then went straight to color and finished it with lineart. It was a bit more challenging, but works!

So this week we did one-class full body sessions in Portrait Drawing. This was the first one and I had some troubles with proportions.

The second one also had some proportion issues towards the legs, but I liked how the face was turning out.

Enemy Encounter: Environments

So I realized it's time I finally tried to face my greatest fear: environments. I have struggled with environments more than any other aspect of drawing. To be honest, it is something I do not know what to do in order to improve. So what is the battle plan? To just do them over and over again until I CAN do them successfully. These were some that I did last weekend.

I started out just doing some value studies to try and create "dream sketches."

Animation III Final Progress!

So this week I worked on trying to finish my roughs for Animation III and put them all together in After Effects so that I could see it all together.

I have been doing some extremely rough storyboards throughout the semester to show actors that act out our scenes. This is my most recent one.

Watercolors!

I finally tried out using watercolors for one of the first times on my own. Honestly it's not as terrible as I remember it being. I still have a lot of practice to do, but this was pretty fun for a first little test.

This was my first one I tried out. I used portrait reference and environment reference.
