Banner Progression

I designed a new banner to use on some of my sites! My old one featuring The Nays needed a drastic update since it was old, so I decided to spend some time and draw a new one.

Here's the updated banner!

This was the original one I made back in 2012.

I re-drew my characters and remade it in 2014.

And again in 2016.

And then again, the new and improved 2018 version!

Staying Busy

I've been keeping myself busy these past few days of spring break! Might as well use this free time working on stuff, while I have it!

A quick landscape study I did of a graveyard. I'm thinking about modeling one in 3D, possibly.

A really quick 10 minute study of a beach resort.

This was a little thing I did for a contest. It was completely inspired by Minecraft.

New Banner and Navigation Bar!

So I spent most of the day fixing my navigation bar and revamping my banner (as you can see the new and improved one above!). Check it out and hover over all of the page links at the top to see what I did. Below you'll be able to see what I did too, with some process images beneath it.

And this was a first draft that I didn't really like, so I scrapped it.

I've never actually done one this advanced before, and this is my first time actually creating alternate content. So if anyone runs into any problems with it working, be sure to let me know so I can fix that up (I only got the chance to test it on about three different browsers). Thanks!

Digital Studies

So most of the day was spent out with family again doing Christmas things, but I had all night to do some practice.

I tried to make a new blog banner, but I really don't like how it came out. So I'm gonna try to redo it whenever I have time. I'm gonna try to stick with this concept, but hopefully learn how to do digital painting before I attempt this again. I'm keeping the one I have for the time being.

New Banner!

I found out a new method for myself that definitely seems to work a lot better. Focusing on doing only sketches and practices during the daytime and then working with digital work during and after listening to the Paperwings Podcast at night. I feel much more productive, motivated, and overall better about my work when I use this method.

Some concept sketches I did of myself. I was experimenting with some new branding options for myself too. Some of the finals are below.

I did these ones for fun.

I'm not sure what to use this one for yet, but I'm thinking of a possible banner. I'll find somewhere to put it.

This was made for my portfolio to put on the cover page. I might use this for my resume branding in some way in the future, too.

Pokemon of the Day!

New Banner!

So I finally decided to update my banner, since it's been awhile. I actually started up concepts for it over winter break, but I didn't get around to actually finishing it until now. Also if you haven't noticed, I changed the name of my blog so that it would add a bit more of my personality to it. Plus I wanted it to be a little bit different. I'll start off this post with the high-resolution version of my banner:

In my Intro to Illustration class, we were given various prompts in which we had to create a unique silhouette of. Some are a lot more established than others, since for our final we are only building upon three of them.

My second time working with ink. This one got a bit more finished than the first round, but there's still work that could have been done to it.

"Cat Practice"

At the Weeklies this week, we drew cats. First we started with gestures, then continued on to make our own characters. I used Pubby and Eather for some of them, but I made up a few new ones.
