Nays Collab: Revisited

This has been an ongoing activity my brother and I have done with our characters. So these are a few fun drawings that came from the event.

Blue Creatures!

These past two daily characters just so happened to be blue creatures.

Gozo is the organized manager of the Gozo Burger; Biggert City's best burgers. His burger shop is very popular and always the go-to hangout for the citizens after school. He is always very busy, but luckily all of his family members work alongside him, especially when the shop is super packed. He often likes to stick to the rules and doesn't really give out discounts or coupons ever.

Towsh is Mr Dude's partner who possesses a hammer that has the ability to teleport. Before Mr Dude became a World Leader and learned how to teleport, Towsh was in charge of teleporting him and everyone else to various places. Towsh's job has been taken since Mr Dude learned to teleport, but he now just acts as a good friend to Mr Dude. He is a very friendly little creature.

Some More Daily Characters!

Here are some more of my daily character drawings!

Wither is a Bird-in-Training from the River Peak Mountains who is able to tell the future. She is very intelligent and can give lots of useful information. She is usually very caring and provides information to Kids for free. The test is if they can make it up the treacherous mountain.

Endimanché is a member of the Koroshiya family who retreated from the Demon World with Mahesa. He is very serious and helps run the Hillside Manor. He is the one who cleans and takes after the cleanliness of the building. He is nice once you get to know him, but may seem stand-offish and stern when he first meets someone.

So I've been working on a new project. I'm not planning on enclosing much information yet, but here are a few sample GUI ideas that I came up with.

Arno & Subeta

Some more of my daily characters!

Arno is a very peaceful creature from Demonica who would not harm a fly. He is very helpful and will do whatever he can to aid his friends. He is always looking out for others and is a very compassionate man.

Subeta is an assassin that fights with a kitchen knife as his weapon. He enjoys cooking and is a chef, when not working as an assassin. He also likes dancing, which is why he has a disco ball tattoo. When he met Yaro, he began an intense rivalry, since the two of them were equally matched on Timer.

Nays Gif Compilation

I'm working on a little project for fun where I give myself 2 hours to draw out some art for short little clips, and then about an hour to put it together in Premiere. So I'm making some little gif previews of the short clips before I finish them all and put them together. I'm also trying to experiment with different styles of animation, just for fun.

Different Characters

These characters were a little different than the usual characters, so they were kind of difficult to create for me.

Len is a dedicated man who is always working hard as a warehouse worker. Him and his twin brother Karse were stranded on Time Fabric Island after his tour group took an unexpected turn. He lives in the mountains and usually is the one to gather firewood for his friends, because of his experience at his previous job. He is generally very helpful and friendly towards strangers.

Jasper is a serious vampire that cries blood instead of tears. He can turn into a swarm of rats in battle. If attacked with weapons made of any blessed material, he will be incapacitated. He subsists on human flesh and blood. He feeds not through his mouth, but via a long tongue with a mouth-like end. (Description from Seventh Sanctum)

Nay Activities

I've been really in the mood for making various projects revolving around my characters, so I decided to experiment and play around with a few things to get my creative juices flowing.

So I revisited an old fun activity from last year. This was a little activity with The Nays where they were put into groups based on the first letter of their name and I made up some little stories to sketch out. These were the costume designs I came up with for the activity.

And then I decided to make up a new little fun project for myself. I wanted to make a really intense trailer for a small little activity that's not so intense, just for fun. It took me about 5 hours total to put this little project together, so that was fun.

Blue Characters!

These past two characters just so happened to be blue AND somehow associated with Punchy. A member of the CrY family and Punchy's brother!

Gary is a very loud member of the Blue family. He loves rapping and singing in general, so he likes to pretend that he's a professional rapper. He is very close friends with his brother Laui, but he didn't really get along with many of his other siblings. Gary always screams and doesn't have a very good sense of volume.

Screem is a very lonesome member of the CrY family. He prefers to do pretty much everything by himself and doesn't really like to work with others. He is very powerful though, and uses that strength mainly to benefit himself. Although, when the time comes, he does do what he can to help out his family. (My file got corrupt as soon as I finished it, so I had to completely redo the lines and shading. That's why those look a little more rushed...)

I've been doodling some characters whenever I need time to think or just feel like warming up. Also I drew a few of these in the car ride to and from picnics.

Sickness...

So I managed to stay healthy during all of my travelling this summer, but the minute I get home, I get sick. It's better than being sick while on a trip though, so I'm glad it happened now rather than earlier. But this means I might be slowing down a little and pumping out less art. I'm still going to do my daily characters and other daily drawing exercises, but you probably won't see any extra art until I'm recovered.

Fitu is a very energetic creature from Senay, a small town in AV World. Fitu is always talking, and is pretty much always in a good mood. He is very positive and always cheers up his friends, no matter what. He has been childhood friends with Piko, and will do whatever he can to help him out. Fitu uses his flames to his advantage in battle, and is a very powerful warrior.

Jawn is a very lively bartender who enjoys brewing his own beer with his good friend Alphonse. He is often found partying and getting drunk. He often is yelled at by Alphonse's wife for bringing Alphonse out to his parties and giving him free beer samples.

Digital Painting Practice!

So now I've been trying to do a lot more drawing than just my daily characters. I'm not going to post every single thing I do, since a lot of it is just practice and gestures, but these are some of the more finished things I did this week.

I haven't done digital painting in awhile, so I decided to do a little test.

And since I've been watching Naruto again recently, I drew this little piece of fanart.

Demonica Characters

These ones were both created by my brother. I did a little bit of design tweaking when I drew them, but not much.

Sibylle is a very sickly, shy demon who has a close relationship with Arno. She is a member of the Red Balloons, a resistance group housed in Demonica for demons and those who want to protect demons. Though she doesn't speak very much, she was never afraid to speak her mind to Arno, and was often most talkative around him.

Akhem is a Worlds Inspector, working under Malik. Because of his job as a Worlds Official, he is very controlling and takes his job extremely seriously. Akhem is very condescending and has an extreme hatred for demons due to the trouble they have caused The Worlds in the past.

First Cintiq Daily Characters!

So since I've gotten my new cintiq, these are the first daily characters I drew using it! It feels so much more natural than using my tablet.

Yoi is the young cousin of Cimc, who is very lively. He always has too much energy and is constantly running around. He loves hanging out with Cimc and his friends, because it makes him feel cool and more grown up. He spends a lot of time working on art projects, especially when they are for someone he really cares about. He spent a few months making a vase for his mother, that was later destroyed by Fuzzy.

Vhandal is a very bratty little girl who will not function unless things go her way. She is very full of herself and thinks she is right no matter what. Vhan pretends she is much older than she is, though she still loves crayons and "girly" things.

Sketchbook Requests

So since I've gotten back from Seattle, I've been drawing in my sketchbook a bit more while I'm out and about. Mostly in car and bus rides. But I asked my brother for some requests to draw of our characters, to spice things up a bit more.

New Cintiq!

So after a summer of working at iD Tech, I finally saved up enough money to buy my own cintiq! I'm super excited to be able to work on stuff at home using a cintiq. I've only ever used a cintiq at school for homework, so this will be a completely new experience for me. Working on personal and work-related projects on a cintiq.

This Summer's Daily Characters

Because I was so busy at camp this summer, I wasn't able to keep up with my daily characters every day, but I drew them whenever I could. I'm not going to include every description in here because that would be a lot of text, but you can check out my Instagram for short descriptors.

Pyre
Pyre is Pheno's daughter who looks after the R Nays during their visits to Tag World.

Maudit
Maudit is a very strict owner of the Hillside Manor who does not appreciate Kali's witty attitude when she speaks with him.

Dr Sando is a very dangerous doctor from Sir Dude World.

Eva
Eva is an old woman who still tries to be active and do "young people things" regardless of her age.

José is a playful young boy who loves to play soccer.

Elftair is a serious guy who is very passionate about training.

Sabor is a very temperamental feline that loves to play basketball.

Chiz is a wrestler who leads the "Big Kid" Club in Biggert City.

Norio is a mangaka who is one of the two leaders of SN World. He is often travelling in his World as inspiration for his manga.

Garou
Garou is a greedy bandit who will do just about any job if he gains money or fame in the process.

Laui
Laui is a sickly boy who has a strange skin disease. When he is healthy, he is a good street fighter, but he suffers sharp pains from his sickness quite often.

Syntax
Syntax is the prime minister from the Teso tribe who is very wealthy and full of himself.

Bloods
Bloods is a dog that grew up on the streets, so he is quite independent and hates relying on others.

Aquina

Aquina is a very proper young mermaid who loves royalty; she frowns upon those who are improper.

Ricco
Ricco is a member of the Liars who is bad at stealing, cheating, and lying, so he gets made fun of by his friends for being too nice.

Kroff

Kroff is a member of the Red Balloons who isn't very good with complex tasks, but instead excels at tasks that test his strength.

Mikana

Mikana is a very demanding and impatient woman and is always rushing people, but possesses qualities of a leader.

Kilasa

Kilasa is a cowardly member of the Yellow Tribe who fights with a garbage can and rubber bands.

Cowlick

Cowlick is a resident of the Grove who used to love eating blue grass, but she has since moved on to orange grass.
