Tanya & Zandra Sketches

Some recent digital sketches I did!

A girl named Tanya. She's a mutual friend of two of my characters.

I tried to draw Zandra smiling and now she looks mischievous.

Style Variation!

I've been trying out some style variations to try and get some more motivation recently. Work has been keeping me so busy that it's hard to find time to draw these days, but I'm trying!

I decided to draw another drawing for the Gamishness project I was doing a little while back.

This one is from TNWTLT Eventure, when future Zandra arrives to warn The Nays about a fearsome foe. And this one is in Oxenfree style! It was hard to emulate the 3D part through a painting, AND I decided to draw all 18 characters that were there (there were even like 5 more not pictured), so I didn't get as much time to spend on details. But the main thing I admire about the Oxenfree style is their text bubbles! so I made sure those looked the nicest. Background are not my strongest point, and that is a huge focus of Oxenfree, so this was a big challenge for me!

I was testing out a bunch of different coloring styles. I also drew this in a style different than I usually draw in. Also this made me realize that I haven't drawn clean lines in like... months?? It took me a lot longer than I thought it would, too.

This is my character, Nari.

And then this was a drawing I did with some inspiration from another artist.

Rough Backgrounds

Since I struggle with drawing backgrounds, I decided to try and make a few background studies as practice.

Developing Characters

I've been working more with this trio recently.

Character height chart for these guys.

I was trying to get Yumi to look as good as my first two drawings of her. For some reason, she's been giving me difficulties. But this is when I just have to draw her like 800 more times and then eventually she'll look right. It worked with my other main OCs, so why not?

Game Character Concepts

I've been working on a game, so naturally designing characters is one of the first steps! I've been doing a lot of tests in RPGmaker, but it was nice to finally take a break to draw some of the characters I've been making up stuff about.

From left to right is Seanna, Mika, and Yumi. These are still rough, but it was fun to finally draw them after writing up some info about them.

Some initial sketches of Yumi.

Some doodles of Mika.

And some initial sketches of Seanna.
