First 3D Animations

So we just started learning 3D animation this week in class.

This was a really quick test I did just to learn how to use squash and stretch and start moving them around.

Initial Storyboards I did for my final.

And these are my revised storyboards for my final.

Maya Subway Interior

So I finally finished my first official environment in Maya this week. It took all semester, but it's pretty much done now. I did a few renders to show the whole thing.

And below are the previous renders I had. I'd say the above ones look a little bit better.

Sketching

I've been working a whole lot on Drawing for Entertainment Design, and it is going to occupy yet another weekend. So all I really did this week other than that was sketches.

Sketches I did during class.

This was our first time doing a two session drawing for Portrait Drawing. I tried to focus more on the hair in this one.

Sketches of Armon, the main character of the story I'm working on.

Some concept sketches I did of Lilith, my bear character.

Sketches of Windows I did for my Computer Animation class. I started a new travel sketch book last weekend!

Some drawings done for class, from life.

Jinny and I drew from Looney Tunes to warm up last Sunday afternoon.

I've seen some great artists (such as Sarah and Emma) doing some cool stuff with markers, so I decided to try out the method of coloring in the negative space around the drawings.

Family Weekend!

This weekend was family weekend at CCAD, so a lot of peoples' families came in to visit. My family came yesterday afternoon, so I've been spending time with them since then. Also, to top that off, today is my brother's 25th birthday, so we got to celebrate too.

Today is my brother's birthday, so I drew him this little gift. I couldn't decide how to arrange them, so I ended up making more than one.

Some sketches of cars that I did for Computer Animation.

Sketches done at the ASC.

Drew some people at the ASC meeting.

Weeklies facial and full gestures.

Some character ideas I had for my character Armon. Probably not gonna go with any of these, but I was just sketching while at the zoo this week.

Lots of Work

Class work I've been doing throughout the week. And this isn't even all of it. More to come.

Some measurements and floor plans for my subway interior that I am creating in my Computer Animation class.

Portrait from class. I still have a long way to go in figuring out how to match likeness.

Some sketches I did during class. I really need to go out and practice these more, because I can tell I'm fairly out of practice.

Stressss

So I've been super busy with classes and homework. So much that it's kind of stressing me out. Coming up with ideas is honestly the hardest part recently.

I did this little sketch of my character, Pubby, the other night to try and cheer myself up and take a break from homework.

Some more sketches I did for my Computer Animation class. These ones are of all the extra miscellaneous objects that will be lying around on the subway.

200 Posts

So my previous post was officially my 200th post! I've been super busy with homework so I haven't had all that much free time. I can tell that this is going to be a fun, yet extremely busy semester. I hope I'm ready.

Our first assignment for Computer Animation is to create concept sketches for the environment that we're planning on doing for our project this semester. I'm planning on doing the interior of a subway for my project. Backgrounds are a major challenge for me, but I'm working on it.
