More Comic Pages
I've been reworking some of the beginning parts of the story, which means it's been getting me in the mood for the very beginning of The Nays! So I decided to continue the comic and also rework an existing page (since I realized I accidentally jumped ahead a few lines).

Comic Styles
As part of the Mr Marcus event (Version 3.0), I redrew some random manga pages from a randomized list, but with my own characters in place of them.
This is Rabiah and Firebreath in Fist of the Blue Sky. I've never read this manga, but this was fun!
Another manga redraw! This one is of Grenna and Pubby in Shinigami of the East.

Updates to The Nays Comic!
I decided to go back and update the pages I've finished of The Nays comic since I wanted to change the format from the comic strips to comic pages. I feel like this is a lot more fitting and lets me control the panels a lot more. I've been reading a lot of comics recently, so I got inspired to go to the page style.
I also added a few panels in between to provide a better sense of space!
And in addition, I recently created a website for the comic so you can check out new updates here when they do happen!

Continuing The Nays Comic!
Making more of the comic for The Nays! Page 4 was drawn awhile ago, but I never got around to posting it here. I've been rewriting parts of the beginning, which has made me want to draw more of this part!

Mr Marcus World Comics
This was a fun event! So what I did was found a manga website and clicked the "Surprise Me!" button which chooses a random manga. Then I randomized the chapter number and page number so that I received a random page. From there, I chose a panel and redrew it with The Nays.
Doge got Waltz in a White Dress, Chapter 13, Page 47.
Gair got Attaque.
Scott got Kaiyorihito Kaiyorishiki, Chapter 6.

The Nays Comic Page!
It's been over a year since I drew the previous page! I still don't know if I like the style of this, but I did update it a little bit from the previous one (including the font). I also decided to make the bubbles slightly color-coordinated for the characters. And then I changed the brush and gave more lines to the background.
This seemed a bit too clean for me and I found myself worrying too much on making sure it wasn't sketchy, so maybe if I change that mindset, it would lead me in a better direction. I might even change the brush used again. Still lots of experimenting to try out, but we'll see!

Bagel Nays
So my brother and I decided to do this comic activity last week, but we only did it for one day so this page is kind of unfinished. But basically, one Nay made up the story, the next one drew it, and then the next two were going to draw backgrounds and add screentones. We only got through the first two though.
Gojo wrote the story, Scott drew the page.

ComiPo Fun!
So about a week or so ago, I tried out this new program called ComiPo. It lets you create your own characters and create comics about them using some pre-made assets. This was a fun little activity that I did one day. Even if the assets were very limited, so I didn't get to make them look quite like my characters.
This was my first test. I made them talk in their own fonts and colors, also. This includes Zandra, Gair, and Mar.
And then this one was a bit more planned. This one's about Piko, Kali, and Clove.
And then I decided to quickly throw sounds in and and turn it into a mini-motion comic in Premiere.
(Sorry for the bad quality, I didn't upload this anywhere else!)

Rocko Comic
Last weekend I was in the mood for making a comic, so I decided to choose a journal entry that I wrote and turn it into a comic page. You can read this whole entry here.
Here's the final comic page!
This is the very last part of the journal entry, so you'll have to read it to get a bit of context.
But since I haven't done something this finished in a long time, here's the process I went through!
So I started out by drawing a bunch of comic layouts to figure out which scene I actually wanted to do.
I decided on which journal entry I wanted to do and just started sketching it out from the beginning (pretty much).
I decided to go with the last one.
And then I cleaned up the sketch so it had a lot more details. I also put in some of the final text.
I drew in clean lines for all of the panels.
And then I put in some base colors.
And then came the shading!

Nays Comic Fun Time
So the other night, me and my brother decided to have a throw-back to old activities we used to do. So since we had been listening to old cassette tapes that we recorded, we opened up an old notebook from like 2003 and had to do something related to whatever page it was opened to. It was an old comic that The Nays made in like Frank Lady World, so what we did was made a new comic that had to revolve around those old characters that The Nays created. Since it was just his Nays who did that comic, they were the ones who got to choose which of my Nays made this comic. This was honestly a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Even though the comic literally makes no sense with a new character being released every panel, we laughed a lot while making them and it was a lot of fun.
These were the comic pages I made!
And then these are photos of the original characters (all drawn by Steve Rakar like 10 years ago).

The Nays Comic
So I'm finally doing it. The story I've been working on for 10+ years finally has a first comic page. I'm doing this in a web-comic-esc format, which is brand new for me. I'm not sure how far I'll get or how often I'll be able to post new pages, but I'm planning on making these a lot quicker just to kind of get my story out there. We wrote about the first half of this first Eventure, so I shouldn't have to worry too much about catching up to where that's written. Currently we are on the 100th Eventure (about 60 of those are completely done and ready to be drawn, but they're the later ones).
But to clarify, each story arc is called an Eventure. We haven't really sorted through and thought of specific Chapters, but we'll make do as we go along. My brother and I have worked long and hard on this project, and it's really what we spend the majority of our free time working on. It's mostly been a project we've kept to ourselves (other than posting drawings of the characters on here), but now it's time we introduce our story to all of you. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Large Comic Page
For Christmas this year, I made a large-scaled traditional comic page for my brother. I've got tons of extra good quality paper from when I was a student, so I decided to make use of some of that. And since it was too big to scan, so I got some progress photos instead. It's based upon a journal entry I wrote a little while back (you can read the whole thing here).

The final comic page!
First I sketched out a storyboard and page layout on a smaller 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper.
Then I sketched the layout to match on a larger scale piece of paper.
Next, I tied down the roughs.
Then I inked it in.
And finally, the color! So here are the close-up shots to show the details.
And this was a little test/doodle sheet of paper I had for testing colors. I even thought about coloring it in marker at one point, but colored pencil seemed like the wiser decision.

Amelia Comic
I felt like doing something a little different, so I sketched out a little comic based on a journal entry I wrote a few months back. This is part of the Delusional Breakthrough Eventure, where Amelia is introduced.
