CUPdate 44: Small Update

I have a pretty small update for this week. May has been super busy in my personal and work life, so I haven't really had time to draw.

For this month's digital sketchbook, I was just playing around with some color palettes and styles for Sagun to figure out the design. I decided to go with the one that's larger on the left.

It was my friend Laura's birthday, so I drew her characters Banana and Belle!

I also went to a baseball game, so I did some quick gesture drawings.

And that's it! I have a pretty busy summer up ahead, so I'm not really expecting any big updates until the fall.

November Improvement Movement

I got a little behind on my Improvement Movement drawings, but here's the belated November prompt - taking a figure drawing and turning it into a character drawing.

Here's the final result!

First I started with a bunch of figure drawing sketches.

Then I highlighted the ones I liked best.

And then here's the rest of the process of sketching start to finish!

And as a bonus, here was the first doodle I tried of Sarah. I didn't really like how this one was coming out, so I didn't finish it.

Return of Gesture Drawing

It feels like it's been forever since I've sat down and done gesture drawings from a website. I used to do it a lot before I was busy with work, but lately, it's been hard to find time to do any. But I finally found a bit of time to do a few, so of course, I'm very rusty!

Zoo Life Drawings

Back in May I went to the Columbus Zoo and in July I went to the Louisville Zoo, so these are some of the drawings I did while I was there.

First 2019 Life Drawings

I finally got around to scanning my sketchbook a week or so ago. So these are some of the life drawings I've done this year so far!

This was at a raffle that we went to after the drive yourself tour around the Amish country.

I've been on a few flights, so these were done at the airport.

I went to Olive Garden at the beginning of the year for my mom's birthday and did these doodles back then.

Summer Life Drawings

While I was in Seattle, I had a lot of chances to do life drawings, especially while I was riding the bus to get places.
