Photography Paintings

This was a really fun new part of the Mr Marcus World event (version 3.0)! We went to a random spot in our house, took a photo, and then drew a character within that scene.

This one is of Snull in the stove. I added some fire/heat effects for fun, too.

Another one from the Mr Marcus (Version 3.0) event! This one is of Cimc in the bathroom, and he forgot to draw his clothes other than his scarf.

Gamishness: Remastered

A new variation on an old project! I've been keeping a list of every game that I play, so after some organizing, I thought up this idea. I'm creating fake screenshots to look like these games, but with my characters and moments from Eventures. The variation is that I'm starting from the beginning for both games and Eventures. I started with the year 1985 (since that seems pretty far back), and Eventure 1. From there, I organized the games so that there are 5 games per Eventure. Eventually I'd love to draw every single one, but for now I'm drawing one game per Eventure so that I can get a bigger variety in content. I'm also giving myself a half an hour time limit, and then any additional time to finish up the piece (kind of similar to the Dr Buh's Fools Event!)

To start things off, here's Bard's Tale from 1985 for The Gek Eventure. This is while Zandra is warning the group against going into The Link Between Worlds. And I drew this in a tiny resolution, because that's actually what the NES resolution was! I didn't play much of Bard's Tale, but some parts were interesting considering the time period it was made in.

Continuing along with 1985 games, I drew Duck Hunt for the Cimc Eventure. During this Eventure, Pubby goes back home with Cimc to see his home. That's when Snuvy attacks Cimcicola, so I figured this would be pretty fitting.

Last of the 1985 games for now with the worst one I've played from that year: Winter Games. This is from The Nays Eventure when a bunch of them are racing against each other for Gek Points.

GUI Tests!

Since I finished DanganRonpa V3 the other day, I've been doing some visual novel interface tests. I love making interfaces, so these were a lot of fun!

Thinking about making a Lie City game in RPG Maker MV for a contest maybe??

This is just a concept/look test to try and get something down. I'm not sure if I'll be too busy to actually dedicate enough time to creating this, but I thought it might be a fun idea.

And I thought that this would be a good opportunity for me to draw backgrounds, because I don't draw those enough, and I really need to practice them. I still need to spend more time looking at fonts too, since this was just one that I threw in there last minute.

This one's just another idea for the personal project I would do for myself instead of for posting. Mostly as a project to easier read stories.

I wanted to do a little test to see what a visual novel interface would look like if it were set up like mIRC. This might be something I'll think about using for a personal visual novel game involving Eventures, but I'm not sure. I still would need to think about what I'd use for backgrounds, since that's my weakest point. This is a project I would probably do on the side and possibly not even post, since it would be just for myself, but we'll see. This test is from the Hillside Manor Eventure when Cipo is writing an email to his friend about their vacation.

The Dailies

Yesterday I had time to do both a Pokemon drawing and a character drawing!

 #163: Hoothoot

Snuvy is a very clever dog who is very deceiving. He is always creating new gizmos and gadgets, and wears his trusty jet pack at all times. Snuvy constantly creates robots and other mechanical creations. He is very dedicated to his work, and doesn't have much time for a social life. Cimcicola criticizes him for this, which is what leads him to deceive the rest of the liars.

More From Huevember!

This has already proved to be an extremely busy month, so I'm starting to realize I probably won't be able to keep Huevember going every single day. But so far I've been doing pretty well!
Day 4: Cimc Suhc

Day 5: Gair Saku

Day 6: Johnny Fawara

Quicker Digicember Doodles

Since it's been Christmas time, I haven't really been spending as much time on these doodles. But I've been drawing more fun characters at least!

"MaMa's Discovery"
MaMa is showing Kai a new type of flower in the forest.

"Cimc the Cheater"
Cimc telling Ralphie to go to the losers area, even though Cimc lost the match.

Meeting New Characters

These characters were a little mismatched and probably have never met each other before, but I thought it would be interesting to figure out what it would be like if they did end up meeting each other.

"Warm Tinies"
Finnchuk shares his warm blanket with Yoi.

"Araylee's Bounty"
Araylee about to shoot Jennie, while on a mission.

Sylvia & Cimc

These were two really fun characters to do. I also tried out a slightly new method for doing the lineart, and I think it turned out better than usual. Sylvia's a character that I've had for awhile and just never actually designed her until now. While on the other hand, Cimc is a character I've drawn A TON, but surprisingly, this was the first time I actually made a finished colored drawing of his new design (the design I made over a year ago).

Sylvia is the very strict mother of Mar who enjoys swimming. She loves hot weather and can't handle the cold. She is usually very demanding and makes her husband Kevin take care of their daughter more often than she does. Sylvia works as a life guard, so she is always looking out for her daughter's safety, and is especially cautious when put in a situation where she could be in danger.

Cimc is a mouse that lies all the time. He makes lying so natural, but also he will try to cheat and lie about things that are obviously false to everyone. He thinks very highly of himself and feels that he is never supposed to lose so always makes fun of people if they're beating him and will often just say that he's winning even if he is not. Cimc can often annoy many people, but he is the leader of the liars. He longs to one day find the Land of the Liars, so that he can feel free to lie as much as he wants, and be accepted for doing so.

First Cintiq Daily Characters!

So since I've gotten my new cintiq, these are the first daily characters I drew using it! It feels so much more natural than using my tablet.

Yoi is the young cousin of Cimc, who is very lively. He always has too much energy and is constantly running around. He loves hanging out with Cimc and his friends, because it makes him feel cool and more grown up. He spends a lot of time working on art projects, especially when they are for someone he really cares about. He spent a few months making a vase for his mother, that was later destroyed by Fuzzy.

Vhandal is a very bratty little girl who will not function unless things go her way. She is very full of herself and thinks she is right no matter what. Vhan pretends she is much older than she is, though she still loves crayons and "girly" things.

Mixed Media Characters

I ended up going with a fun alternative for my daily characters while I'm at home. I've been drawing them in my sketchbook using pencil, then inking in marker. Then I scan them in and color them digitally. It's a neat look and it's a lot better than what I've been doing recently with strictly one or the other.

Ground Shell Master is a very powerful tank sent by the police to destroy anyone and everything against the law. He is very loud and likes to announce who he is whenever he enters the area.

Ivan is a rabbit who finds himself to be very cool. He talks very strangely and likes to put his hands on everything he sees. Ivan is usually the one who instructs tests in Marcus World, and he has a very strange sense of what he believes to be artistic.

Sketchbook Stuff from Last Week

So last week, before the vacation, I was sketching a lot more when I went out places. It gave me something to do and kept me drawing and utilizing my time better.

Some sketches in the car from last Sunday.

And these were sketches from Monday.

Some life drawing I did at the mall. This was a start of my new mini-sketchbook I got for Christmas last year. It's a really good travel-sized sketchbook, and easy to use in public.

Lie City - Layout & Timing

I finished up layout for an animation that I'm working on. The layout was due for class two weeks ago, so that's what I've got so far. I plan on revising the layout a bit for a few of the scenes, based on notes from my professor. But overall, the layout stage is pretty close to being finished, and I plan on actually fully animating this at some point in the future.

Lie City Character Sketches

So I decided on my idea for my Layout & Timing class. I ended up doing some character sketches of the possible main characters for my short, so I could get an idea of their shapes and what their designs would be. I have a rough idea revolving around Cimc, Cimcicola, and Snuvy. The others will all be background characters, if even in it.

First ASC Meeting of the Semester!

Sadly, last night was the last first ASC meeting of a semester that I will be able to be a part of. It was a lot of fun though, and I was able to draw some stuff during Weeklies.

Bluebreath is a very outgoing creature. His close friendship with Cimc causes him to have a great relationship with his family. He likes to talk a lot, and is very good at lying. He has a sly ability to twist peoples' words against them, which he is very proud of.
Also I created this for the Weeklies Scribble Contest.

During the Weeklies meeting, we did some gesture drawings of an active Super Smash Bros game. They paused at certain parts towards the end, but we drew them in action for the first match. It was a lot of fun!

Layout & Timing Pitches

This week we pitched ideas in Layout & Timing class. The class seemed to be leaning towards the first idea, though I was torn between that one and the third one. So this weekend I'm planning to develop my first idea a bit more and probably go with that one. This is for our semester-long project.
