DBZ Drawings

Here are some DBZ-related drawings I've done in the past few months after the Broly movie came out. I always get in these DBZ moods for awhile.

I've been playing a lot of DB Xenoverse 2 recently and finally finished all of the Parallel Quests. Here are all of my characters I've recreated in the game, based on my characters from The Nays. All that's left is to make a Majin, but I haven't decided who I want that to be yet.

I watched the new Broly movie and my favorite part was everything to do with the Saiyans' past.

Watercolor Painting

So the other week, I decided to get the watercolors out and try to do a full watercolor painting. It was really hard for me, but it ended up turning out better than I initially thought it would.

This is the final painting of Cheelai from the Freeza Force!

It started out as a pencil sketch

I got a photo of it about halfway through inking, but I did that after laying the colors down.

And then finally I inked it and added some colored pencil to bring the colors out more.

Recent Fanart!

I've been drawing some more fanart recently!

Been watching E3 and so far the biggest news for me has been Jump Force! Keeping my hopes up that it'll be closer to JUS quality instead of J-Stars; I trust Bandai Namco.

So once upon a time in 2011, I started a collaboration project for my Hunter x Hunter group on deviantART. 6 years later, I finally had time to put it together and so I drew Gon and Killua since they were missing from the group!

FF & DBZ Fanart

I don't draw fanart a whole lot, but here's some recent fanart I've drawn!

Back when I beat Type-0, that ending caught me off guard because of how GOOD it was! The whole game's story was fairly mediocre and then Chapter 8 just turned everything around and got really good. The battle system's what kept me playing, but I'm glad I did in the end. I'm slowly beginning to understand l'Cie more (after playing through 4 games with them) so I don't hate the concept as much as I did back when I first tried 13.

I drew King Piccolo for Piccolo Day in May.

Dragon Ball Doodles

I've been in a DBZ mood for like a month now, so I drew some fanart! I'm getting ready for DB Fighter Z coming out tomorrow (though I won't have time to play it until after the weekend).

Patiently waiting for DB Fighter Z to come out, so I'm just playing more Xenoverse 2. This is my level 80 Saiyan character, Jee. I made a new save file as a Namek the other week, so maybe I'll draw them at some point, too. Jee is actually based on one of my characters from The Nays though. She's Kai's mom, though I've never actually shown her on an Eventure before.

So I'm finally catching up in the DBSuper manga! The Future Trunks arc was definitely my favorite part of DBSuper so far. I only have a few more chapters until I have to wait every month for updates though...

Cabba Digital Painting Process

I finally caught up in the Dragon Ball Super dub, and so far Cabba's my favorite new character they've introduced. Now I gotta wait every week for the new episodes.

But this drawing I did based on this original Vegeta drawing from the Saiyan Saga. I used the same palette, so this was a fun little challenge!

Here's the final digital painting!

And then here's my process on how I got here!

Experimenting with Style

I've been drawing my character Zandra in a bunch of different styles. It's a fun exercise that helps push me outside of my comfort zone.

Sketchbook Time!

I've had the opportunity to work in my sketchbook a lot more recently. I'm trying to fill one up to see how fast I can do it, since it usually takes me a few months.

A bunch of sketches I did in the car on the way to a picnic yesterday.

Character sketches, trying out colored pencil again.

After starting a game in Suikoden II, I did some doodles of the main characters.

Did some sketches while watching some DBZ movies/OVAs.

And some studies I did based on Akira Toriyama's drawings of vehicles.

Some quick anatomy studies.

Dragon Ball Animation

I had the awesome opportunity to participate in the Seven Star Dragon Ball Re-Animate Project on Tumblr. This was a really fun scene and I had some fun animating in Photoshop. This definitely came out a lot better than anything I've cleaned up in Toonboom, so I'm pretty happy with it. This was a rough experiment, so I plan on doing some more fleshed out stuff in Photoshop in the future.

Here's a still from the animation.

And here's the full thing.

DBZ Fanart

I watched Dragon Ball Z Battle of the Gods in theaters yesterday and it was awesome! So when I got home, naturally I wanted to draw some DBZ fanart.

Muyo is a very outgoing young boy. He is always seen talking, shouting, or jumping around. Muyo does not enjoy to stay still. Although he has had a rough past, he still smiles no matter what, and longs to cheer everyone up, especially Sarah.

Some DBZ sketches I did, since I was in the mood for it after watching the movie.

Some drawings done at Si Señor, a local Mexican restaurant.

Nostalgia

So Christmas was a lot of fun with family. I ended up getting some pretty cool stuff, including the Art of Final Fantasy IX and some prismacolor markers. But yesterday was spent catching up on art a little.
I was watching Dragon Ball all of Christmas night with my brother, so I did this little piece of Goku yesterday.

These are some sketches that I did before making that final piece.

Portrait of my friend, Emma.

Process of it.

These are some sketches I did with my new prismacolor markers.

And this was a sketch I did on Christmas Eve actually.

These are some little gifts I made for my brother.
