Nostalgia

Yesterday was a very nostalgic day overall. My brother and I spent a lot of the day looking through old drawings and other old ideas we had from when we were younger. We ended up finally finding some of the "episode lists" of the fictional "TV channel" that we created when we were kids, which will be pretty beneficial to our current project: Speedvore.

Some thumbnail sketches I did of Wayward Vagabond for the piece below. I plan to do a few more based from these thumbnails in the future, too.

This was a quick piece I did which was originally just going to be a color study. It turned into a bit more than that and actually came out to be a finished piece. I got inspiration with the colors from the actual Homestuck comic, with the way they express color.

Easing Back In

Yesterday was my first full day back at home, so I didn't do all that much art-related. I'm slowly easing back into my schedule and trying to get back my work ethic.

Back from Canada!

I'm back from my family trip to Canada! It was a really fun weekend and we ended up doing a bunch of cool stuff. Other than relaxing and just hanging out with my family, I also got in a bunch of sketches! Most of these were done in the hotel room or in the car rides.

I decided to re-design Jennie Hamilton, one of my characters, since I WAS in Hamilton in Canada.

 
These are a bunch of environment studies that I did, most of which were done in the car ride. I did a few in the hotel as well. Unfortunately I only brought a few colored pencils with me, so I was pretty limited on colors I could use.

 I did some gestures while in the car of people in the city. A few of these are also of my family from either in the car or the hotel room. The last ones in pen include some environment studies I did in the car too.

Some little doodles that didn't come out the best. A marker doodle of the fireplace in our hotel and then some fanart and random doodles I did after coming back from Anime North.

Leaving the Country

...For the weekend at least! I know I mentioned in my previous post that I will be in Toronto this weekend on a family vacation. So in turn, that means I will be absent from the internet and will not update my blog until Tuesday. Of course I will be still doing my daily sketch journal, I just won't be able to upload the sketches until I get back. Also I wanted to keep up on my daily Pokemon, so I drew a bit ahead. But anyway, enjoy my last blog post of the week!

100th Post!

This is officially my 100th post on Blogger! I don't particularly have anything super special to post, so it's basically going to just be a normal daily post for me.

So yesterday I listened to some of the Paper Wings Podcast and learned a lot of stuff. I definitely want to catch up on all of these, since they really inspire me a lot. The rest of the night was playing Pokemon with friends, and then my brother came home from Chicago.

So this summer my family's planning on cleaning up our house a whole lot and I started that up last night. But it was the typical kind of day otherwise: Picnicing and playing Pokemon with my friends.

So the first row are ones I tried using my left hand for. It didn't work out so smoothly so I just continued onward normally with my right hand after that. I drew these while waiting in the car while my parents were in a grocery store.

So Much Pizza

So yesterday I had a lot of pizza for dinner... possibly a bit too much. But anyway, the rest of the day was practicing drawing from some books and playing Pokemon with friends.

So I decided to start back up my whole project of drawing a Pokemon a day! I'm not gonna dedicate myself TOO much to this project, but I'll try to draw a Pokemon when I can, in order, in this kind of a style.

A Day in the Park

So I finally got to go outside and sketch after our family picnic. We usually go on picnics whenever it's nice outside, so yesterday was definitely a great day for it. Afterwards, my mom and my brother played Frisbee. The day was overall pretty productive and one of my better days in terms of art.
