So I recently started watching Seraph of the End because I heard one of the songs in it and got obsessed with it. And the anime is actually really good! So I was watching the ending song and I got really inspired to draw after seeing 54 seconds into it.
So I drew Scott in The Gek's flooded World. I made Pigger be in the reflection and placed The Gek in the background. This was gonna be a tiny little sketch but I ended up fleshing it out a lot more than expected! I also have been really liking playing around with blur effects recently in my stuff.
And it all started with this little doodle.
And then I cleaned up the lines.
I actually used the "Always use Pressure for Opacity" option for coloring. I just used varying pressures to change the color instead of using tons of different colors. I used one for the highlight and one for the shadows, but the rest was one color. I don't usually do shading this way, so it was interesting to blend in a different style.
I added in the front color for the water, so that the table looked like it was actually underwater.
I added more color to the background and made the water lines a lighter color. I also colored over Pigger so that it would look like a reflection.
I blurred out a bunch of elements to give it more depth. I also made the foreground a bit larger so it would frame the image better.
I added some water markings onto the couch to make it look like it went together better. I also added The Gek to the background in the sky.
And then I decided to move The Gek because he looked out of place and too big in that spot.
He STILL looked out of place, so I dimmed his color and added some fog over him. I also smudged the background a bit so the shapes weren't as sharp.
These were two recent Eventure Doodles that came out better! Probably because I was working harder recently and these were fun to just take some time to relax and draw for myself.
After Gair and Piko face off in the World K Tournament they fight against Ducklin. At this point, Piko and Gair are waking up so they are fading away from Beddy Bye World.
The Nays find themselves stuck in an MMO, and Kominushu (Trekkon's sister) comes to rescue them. Katume tries to break off all connections with the outside world to trap them in there, so Kominushu has to do something drastic to save them.
After 30 to 40 hours of hard work and little to no sleep, I finished my second Global Game Jam! This time me and Steve created a game in RPG Maker MV, but we used entirely our own art. No pre-made stuff this time! We spent a lot of time on the art, and were also able to make a few puzzles. This game's definitely a lot more polished than last year's. And it was a lot of fun to make!
I'm participating in the Global Game Jam again this year with Steve Rakar! This year's project has been a bit harder for me so far, but we're getting a lot done. I'll post our final game tomorrow or the next day, but this is the progress! Check out my Twitter for more frequent live updates!
This is a sample of what the GUI and character portraits will look like. I did this test in Photoshop, so the text and BG is not final.
And then this was a test that I did for how our menu might look. We'll probably end up using a bunch of pictures instead of an actual menu plug-in.
And here's what I spent the majority of last night on! Mr Dude is our main character, so I made sprites of him walking. I'm a bit out of practice on animation, so this was a lot harder and more time consuming than I was hoping for. But now we have a walking character!
I saw a bunch of people doing these and I missed it last time around, so I wanted to do one for myself! I got a little carried away and drew my entire workspace. Although I didn't draw EVERYTHING. There are a lot more cords than there is pictured, but I just didn't wanna draw all of those.
The Nays are beginning to not line Tag World anymore... ONWARD TO PS WORLD!
Chozu leads The Nays in having an out of control party in Tag World. This results in throwing around a giant bird stuffed animal, drenched in water.
The Nays start to not really enjoy Tag World as much as they used to. But in the meantime, Ralphie and Gojo bond and become friends while they're eating chocolate covered pretzels and playing a video game together.
