Limited Free Time

So for the next week and a half, I'm really not gonna have all that much stuff posted. Basically I got a freelance job that needs to be completed in a week and a half, so the amount of time I spend doing free-time art will be put into that project. Unfortunately, I will not be able to post any of the art I am doing for this project anywhere, so just stay tuned for the little bit of art I can post unrelated in the meantime!

It's Officially E3 Week!

Just want to start off with saying how exciting E3 has been thus far. Sony had a great conference last night, and it got me really pumped for what else is to come this week.

So to celebrate Square-Enix's announcement of Final Fantasy XV, I drew Noctis. Just seeing a new trailer for the game that I've been looking forward to almost half of my life made me so excited and pumped up to play the game whenever it happens to come out.

Active Day

So yesterday I was a little more active than usual, since my family and I played at the park after our picnic yesterday. That caused me to feel a little drained unfortunately and not too able to work on much art, though.

So I decided to try and practice doing some really quick storyboards. I completed these 20 boards in 32 minutes total. I'm trying to get a lot faster as well as gaining the ability to do boards straight with my tablet rather than drawing them all out on paper first. Although, I would've liked for these to turn out a little bit better. Plus the script's obviously not the best thing I've written, considering I made it up on the go. But basically this is the scene where Gair first encounters the hallucination of Rasake and attempts to pursue his dreams of being a hero by setting off to rescue her.

A New Pokemon Journey

...And if I wasn't in the middle of enough Pokemon games. But anyway, my brother and I decided to take a break from projects yesterday and play some games. We had a Super Smash Bros Brawl tournament, then started up new Pokemon Ruby games.

Some thumbnails and gestures that I did while in the car ride home from church yesterday.

So along with playing Pokemon Ruby, we decided to make a little sketch log along with the game, to record our journeys. I named my trainer Nicola, since that was one of the suggestions at the beginning, so it was kind of more as a joke than anything. But I decided to make my game have more of a challenge, since I've already beaten all three in this generation. I decided to make it into more of a story where I'm a gym leader coming from another region. And this gym leader only trains normal type Pokemon. Thus, that is my goal in this game. I will only use normal types. But this was actually a really good practice for drawing fast and not really paying attention to the quality of the drawings.

Since I barely drew anything today (didn't even get around to doing my daily practice drawings), I tried to make up for it by spending about a half an hour doing these digital sketches. I really need to work on doing more digital sketches, since they don't come out nearly as good as my traditional sketches. This is Mar, crying on Ralphie's shoulder, by the way.

So I was working a lot on compiling images together to put in my portfolio today. I didn't complete it yet, but hopefully within the next week I will have a portfolio of my work so far put together.

So I decided to start on some HxH fanart... and my first digital painting in a long time, actually. I just got started on the value study. Today I'll do some finishing touches and then add in the color.
