Digital Sketching!

I've been trying to do some sketching for myself this week. It helps with decompressing and sometimes it calms me down, too. I need to do this more often!

Sazu & Ume

Some antagonist characters!

Sazu is a very dangerous assassin who is the leader of the Blue Blades. He is very powerful and shows no mercy. When he took The Nays Exam, he killed one of his opponents, which caused for his disqualification. Sazu will do whatever his clients request of him, no matter how many lives must be taken. He deemed the Light Festival Masquerade as the Light Festival Massacre because of how many he killed in the process.

Ume is a sneaky member of Kudamono's team. He has been playing The Game for a very long time, and therefore has night vision because of it. He always ensures that he gets a whip during The Game, because he has trained on how to use it to entrap his enemies. Ume's name means plum, which is why his favorite color is purple.

Oujou Character Development

I was working with some mediums I'm not used to working with! It was a fun way to get out of my comfort zone.

Here's a sprite I made of Oujou! It was so much fun making this! I really enjoyed the challenge of having a limited palette and limited details I could fit in. I'm kind of really liking this new design I made for him, so I think I'm gonna keep it.

And this was the concept piece for the above sprite. It's a little different than my usual style. I was inspired a lot by Alfred Kubin's art, trying to get a very grainy and messy look. The wings were probably my favorite part to do, because they were completely different than the way I would normally draw them. This was a fun challenge!

Dino Bi & Sachiko

Some more daily characters!

Dino Bi is a very greedy rogue bird from the western part of Tag World. She started up a rebellion in Tag World that caused for many of the bird-in-trainings to go out of control. She enjoys starting up ruckus and is very good at spreading believable rumors.

Sachiko is a high school girl who tends to distance herself from others. She has telekinetic abilities, so she proves to be a useful asset in Sir Dude's plan to rescue The Nays. She spoke with The Nays in their minds when obtaining the necessary information to fight off Boppo. Though her mind abilities are great, she doesn't have very good physical strength, which is what caused her to fall into the hands of Dr Sando.

Back with a Cintiq!

So it's been officially one week since I've been home and able to draw on my cintiq again. Mostly I've been drawing my daily characters, but here are a couple of things I did for fun other than that!

This started out as a doodle, but then I ended up actually coloring it and spending a bit more time on it. Friends can save lives. This is kind of something that just came into my head as a side plot with Sarah and Akuma. We'll see if it ends up going anywhere in the main story.

This was the first drawing I did on my cintiq as soon as I got back.

A little pixel art test of Pubby. This was a fun challenge to maintain a character in such a small amount of pixels.

Agent Dave & Baku Baku

Back with these daily characters!

Baku Baku is a young creature who strives to be cool. He joins a gang because he thinks it is the "cool" thing to do. Though he gets into a lot of trouble, he will always proudly say "I'm in a gang!" Baku Baku is very social and is always seen talking to strangers. He tends to try and live himself up to be cooler than he actually is.

Agent Dave is a meatball enthusiast who is a member of a vicious gang known as the Atomic Angels. He runs a meatball shop to disguise the base, which works out for him because he loves meatballs so much. The initiation for his gang is taking old meatballs and stomping on them in the back room of his shop. He has a very interesting way with words and is able to persuade others very easily. He puts on a very relaxed front, when in reality, he has committed many crimes and is a wanted man in Mr Dude World.

Back In the Sketchbook!

When I hung out at my friend's house the other week, I tried to draw in my sketchbook a lot more, since I have been kind of neglecting doing so recently.

I really like this trio a lot. And I threw Rudat in there too.

I drew this after trying out the new pumpkin milkshake at Steak n Shake. 

I liked doing that drawing of Clove. 

I did these after watching the new Dangan Ronpa anime. 

 

 Jinny and I were drawing a bunch of stuff on the same pages, so I ended up splicing together from the 7 pages that we did that day into just 2 of my own.

I started off by sketching Hillary's dog, and then it turned into drawing Cheato and Doge.
